Hola!   So the title has nothing to do with my email, there are just a ton of ants all over the desk I'm sitting at in the library so I thought I'd mention that.   Monday ... I don't actually remember what we did on Monday . It seems like that was a lot more than a week ago. Oh! Actually I do remember! That was the day we went back at the end of preperation day to fix my tire, and when we started to inflate the new tube it literally exploded! It went from brand new tube to having a 10 inch slit in it with one loud bang. It was mostly upsetting becuase we had an appointment with Jorge and Cinthya in 15 minutes, and they live at the bottom of our area. Luckily the Hnas were able to take us down there, and then come pick us up after that appointment and some contacting so that we could make it to our 8:00 appointment at the top of our area. It was a really bad day to have to live without bikes, but the Hnas saved us!   Tuesday we had distric...

2013 08 19m2 Hello, You might not think "Hello" is Spanish, but you'd be amazed by how many Hispanics (who only speak Spanish) answer the phone by saying Hello. I'm sorry it'll be a short email this week; I just had other things I needed to do, so I don't have time for a long one. Monday Miracle: A couple of weeks ago we were contacting a few people right before we went home for the night, and it turned out that one of them was a menos activa who had moved here and stopped going to church about 6 months ago. That in and of itself was a miracle because her records are not in our ward, so there's no other way we would have found her. (It really is true when they say that the FBI can't even find these people, but the Mormon missionaries can. :) The miracle on Monday was that we called to invite her to a ward Noche de Hogar (FHE), and not only did she say she would come that night, but she actually did, and had a really g...

Buenos Dias! Monday was great. After preparation day was over we went to a cita with J- and C-, and it was wonderful. Hno V- and his family came with us, and it was so good to have them there and have them share their testimonies. Then we went to see J-, and I learned a very important lesson about searching out and doing the Lords will and not my will. We have a terrible time getting meetings with J-, and he hasn't really been keeping his commitments, so I went into the lesson with the idea that we were going to let him know we couldn't teach him any more. However, just a couple minutes in I felt the Spirit teaching me that I needed to seek the Lord's will for J-, and not just do what was easiest for me. I was also able to feel the immense love that the Lord has for J-. Instead of what we had planned we were able to set a baptismal date for him. I still don't know if he'll be able to keep the commitments necessary to reach t...

Hola Todos! There really are always changes going on in the mission. This transfer Hna Allen and I got a new companion named Hna Watts. She is straight from the MTC, but she was in the intermediate class so her Spanish is already excellent! She is from Utah and loves to rock climb, bike, and do yoga. (She was very excited to be in a bike area.) We also had a lot of changes happen in our district. Elder Ellsworth and Elder Winward went home :( but luckily everyone else got to stay with us here in San Fernando. We also added another area with a new companionship of Elders on bike. We now have 11 missionaries in our district! Elder Guevara is our new district leader, and he is absolutely AMAZING!!! He's also opening the new area in Mission Hills, and training a new missionary Elder Baker. Elder Bowman and Elder Lo'amanu are still together and Elder Bowman get's to finish training Elder Lo'amanu. Elder Linford is also training a new missionary. His...
