Buenas Tardes, Mostly I just have a few experiences to share from this week. Recently we have been trying to contact each of our investigators every day. So far we've only been successful with one of them, but he is progressing pretty well. We've been able to build up a good enough relationship with him that we had a great experience on Sunday morning before church. He had committed to come to church with us on Sunday , and we were going to get him a ride with one of our members, but the night before he texted us and told us that he didn't want to come to church and that maybe he should just stay catholic! We weren't sure what had happened since he was reading and praying and seemed to really like the Book of Mormon. We went over the next morning before church, and asked him what had happened. Luckily he trusted us enough to tell us that what was really going on was that he was afraid to go to church when he didn't know anyone or wha...

Buenas Tardes, This week I've been thinking a lot about gratitude. My thoughts originated with an exchange I had with my mom, but I also LOVED President Uctdorf's talk in general conference about gratitude. ( https://www.lds.org/general- conference/2014/04/grateful- in-any-circumstances?lang=eng ) I love the idea of learning to be grateful in our circumstances instead of just being grateful for things. More than just the idea though, I love the blessings that are promised to us if we develop this habit of simply being grateful. If we are grateful then we will be happy, truly happy, not just momentarily happy but a lasting happiness that doesn't fade away through times of  trial, disappointment, or discouragement. I haven't yet discovered exactly how to just be grateful, but I have realized that it is very helpful to be grateful for things in all situations. I have taken the time to sit and think about all of the things that I could possibly be grat...

(Translation) I don't have very much time today, but I wanted to tell you a few things. This week we had a entire mission conference. Elder Kent F Richards of the seventy came along with Elder Garnes, our area seventy. Elder Richards spoke about a lot of things and I learned SO MUCH that I want to put in practice in our area and in my teaching. I loved that two of the main things he mentioned were boldness and daily follow up with each of your investigators. I have been thinking SO much about both of those things for the last transfer, and both have been things that consistently pop into my mind throughout my mission. Hna Ellings...

Buenas,   So I don't have a super lot of time today, but I wanted to share just a few things with you all. Conference was AMAZING!!! We've finally been able to set a few baptismal fechas (dates) with our investigators! And one very funny story about a different kind of fecha.   I loved conference. We watched the last session in Spanish with one of our investigators, and it was great to be able to watch conference in my mission language. Some of the themes that I noticed were: service/love, the atonement/grace, keeping the commandments brings blessings, gratitude, and family history/missionary work. My favorite talks were Sister Reeves' talk, and President Eyring's talk and I think Elder Ballard's talk has changed my mission if not my whole life. I love the idea of consistent follow up, and how important it is to be persistent.   Our miracle of the week is our investigator named G. She is so sweet, and so prepared to hear the restored gospel....
