Bueno,

This week has gone by to fast to tell. I just realized that it has only been half a week since we had our Zone Conference.
It was really good, and we learned a lot! I love listening to President Hall teach and learning from him. He taught us a lot about how we can improve our teaching in order to teach more simply. Also, we did a musical number that was very sipritual (for me at least) about missionary work, and I thought also mothers day. You can watch it at (see above) if you want.

I forgot to bring my journal today, so I can't remember a lot of the things that happened, but I know it was a good week. For example, we talked with more than 120 people this week! It was a miraculous experience as we exerted ourselves (not sure how I would actually say that in English) to talk with every person in our path. Also we saw the miracle that R came to church again on Sunday!  Right now we're teaching a lot of youth, and I am always amazed by how much the understand and believe of our mesage. I am so grateful for their desires to change and improve and learn the truth. This week we taught a young woman who told us that her reason for listening to our mesage is that her family hasn't had much to do with religion or God and she wants that for her family. She said that it has to start with someone and thus she's going to do it. She was SO receptive, and really understood the significance of the Restoration!

Also, funny note, we've been studying in our car a lot.
Sometimes we take our materials so that we can use them while we drive. (Well I drive and hna Ellingson uses the materials.) It's a good thing because our area is huge, at least compared to other areas I've served in, and sometimes we have to drive 15 minutes from one part to another. This morning we took the other hermanas to an appointment before we came to the library becasue they don't have a car right now and we finished our studies in the car.

Sorry this is all, but I can't think of any more things we did this week... I'll try to do a better summary next week, but for right now I'm just going to share a little bit from my studies this week. You don't have to read them if you don't want to.

Les quiero,
Love,

Recently I studied Jean A Stevens' talk from General Conference titled "Fear Not; I Am with Thee." I loved the things that she talked about and would like to share a few of my favorite quotes and thoughts on them.

"Our Father in Heaven reaches out for each of us with His infinite love. He has power over all things and desires to help us LEARN, GROW, and return to Him."

These learning and growing experiences won't always be what we expect or want, but we can trust that our Father knows what is best for our eternal progression.

"As we develop greater faith and trust in the Lord, we can access His power to bless and deliver us." Also 1st Nephi 1:20

We have to trust the Lord for him to be able to help us.

"...He will help us...in the way that will best help us to grow. Submitting our will to His ... is essential to ... finding the peace He offers us."

"Each faced real and difficult challenges. Each acted in faith and put his trust in the Lord. Each received His help.'

1) You will face challenges
2) Act in Faith (trust in the Lord)
3) You will receive His help

Sorry this isn't all of it, but I'm out of time. I'll send the rest next week.

Birthday!

So, my birthday was yesterday, and it was quite possibly the best birthday ever , and definitely the BEST day of this semester!  It actually started the night before (the night of the 17th) when Janette came to dinner. We made pizza, Isaac brought cinnamon rolls, and we had several people over. I was already happy being able to party with Janette one last time before she went into the MTC . Then after dinner, my roommates surprised me with birthday cake and ice cream. Everyone sang happy birthday, and I was glad I got to celebrate with Janette. Then on the morning of the 18th (my BIRTHDAY ) I woke up and left my room, and this is what I found: streamers hanging from the connecting door, balloons all over the living room, streamers on the ceiling, a monkey hanging from the ceiling in the kitchen, and 20 sticky notes that said 20 different things my roommates love about me. : ) I have the BEST   roommates ever! Sandra also had a few dollar store presents for me, and the best o...

Going Public

So I was thinking today about how I love to keep up with my friends and family through their blogs. I'm pretty busy with school, so I really don't have time to call everyone who is important to me and talk about their lives. Instead I read their blogs. I write my blog for much the same reason, so that people who care about me can read about my life on their own time. Ever since I started my blog I've had it privatized so that only people who I invite can read my blog. However, as I have made more friends, I've had multiple people be surprised that I have a blog at all, and some have asked to read it. I've always been hesitant to let people read my blog because I don't want to inadvertently offend someone or accidentally share something I'd rather keep private with the whole world. I realized today that that is really silly considering the purpose of my blog, and so I've decided to publicize my blog. I realize that I write about other people on my blog, a...

Hi There

So Caitlin's blog has gotten me thinking. I'm not as creative of a writer, and I'm definitely not a paint artist, but I am away at college and not in as direct contact with my family and friends. I would like to be able to share my life and ideas with those that I love. I can't promise to post every day, or even every week, but I will try. I hope you all enjoy.
