Buenas Tardes!

This week has been amazing for finding! We found 15 new investigators, but I forgot my planner today so you don't get a day by day summary, just some miracle stories.

We had a couple of different miracle stories happen including a Cornelius story. (AKA Cornelius in the book of Acts who asked Peter to come teach him, and then invited all his friends and family to hear as well.) On Friday after zone conference we'd invited two recent converts (sisters) to come to an appointment with us, but it turned out that we couldn't meet with the lady that night after all. Instead we did a member split and I went to knock one street with E---a, while Hna Allen went with T---a. It was great to work with E---a because she's planning on going on a mission! It was good to be able to talk a little bit about what missions are like, and how important and wonderful it is to share the gospel with other people. We didn't have a great night; we got rejected at basically every door, but at the last door we were able to set up a return appointment. It was also special because I had E---a do the door contact and she did such a good job!

When we met up with Hna Allen and T---a again we got to hear about their miracle story. (I'm not 100% sure about the accuracy since I wasn't there but this is the gist.) They had stopped to talk to a man and his son, and three other men (friends of his) also stopped to listen, and they all said they'd love to hear more, and set up a return appointment where they'd all meet at the first one's house. We're really excited to work with them! Honestly though, the most exciting part of the whole story is that Hna Allen did it all by herself. Okay not completely by herself, she had T---a who's a native Spanish speaker to help, but she was the only missionary! I was so proud of her!

We also had a miracle happen on Saturday. We'd planned a blitz for our area (before we realized we didn't need help finding potential investigators...) so everyone decided to just go through with it and get to know the bottom half or our area a little better. It was a miracle because we picked the area for the San Fernando elder's, and we felt like they would be able to find a family in that area. Then ... they did! They found a family of 3 and taught lesson 1 and set up a return appointment!

Another random miracle that we had was church. We'd planned on two different investigators coming to church with us, and they both cancelled last minute. That was the first miracle though because they both let us know before hand that they weren't going to make it. The second miracle was when we walked into the chapel and were talking with some members I looked over and realized that one of our other investigators (E---n) was sitting on the back row! We had been pretty sure he wasn't going to come to church but then he did!!! We think he had a really good experience, and we're excited to be able to see him later this week!

The rest of the week was normal with the usual ups and downs. Zone Conference was amazing! and I've decided that I want to be Sister Hall when I grow up (or at least just like her). She is absolutely amazing, and I love her attitude about life, and how ready she is to learn and share. We were also finally able to start setting up member present lessons (which we've been struggling with). All in all it was a pretty good week for us.

I was thinking today about how fast time seems to be moving. Somehow everything just seems to be getting faster and faster. It's hard to believe that Hna Allen and I have been together for almost 6 weeks already! I absolutely love this work! I love sharing the gospel, and I love what I'm learning about the gospel and about myself. Thank you all for your support and love!

Birthday!

So, my birthday was yesterday, and it was quite possibly the best birthday ever , and definitely the BEST day of this semester!  It actually started the night before (the night of the 17th) when Janette came to dinner. We made pizza, Isaac brought cinnamon rolls, and we had several people over. I was already happy being able to party with Janette one last time before she went into the MTC . Then after dinner, my roommates surprised me with birthday cake and ice cream. Everyone sang happy birthday, and I was glad I got to celebrate with Janette. Then on the morning of the 18th (my BIRTHDAY ) I woke up and left my room, and this is what I found: streamers hanging from the connecting door, balloons all over the living room, streamers on the ceiling, a monkey hanging from the ceiling in the kitchen, and 20 sticky notes that said 20 different things my roommates love about me. : ) I have the BEST   roommates ever! Sandra also had a few dollar store presents for me, and the best o...

Going Public

So I was thinking today about how I love to keep up with my friends and family through their blogs. I'm pretty busy with school, so I really don't have time to call everyone who is important to me and talk about their lives. Instead I read their blogs. I write my blog for much the same reason, so that people who care about me can read about my life on their own time. Ever since I started my blog I've had it privatized so that only people who I invite can read my blog. However, as I have made more friends, I've had multiple people be surprised that I have a blog at all, and some have asked to read it. I've always been hesitant to let people read my blog because I don't want to inadvertently offend someone or accidentally share something I'd rather keep private with the whole world. I realized today that that is really silly considering the purpose of my blog, and so I've decided to publicize my blog. I realize that I write about other people on my blog, a...

Hi There

So Caitlin's blog has gotten me thinking. I'm not as creative of a writer, and I'm definitely not a paint artist, but I am away at college and not in as direct contact with my family and friends. I would like to be able to share my life and ideas with those that I love. I can't promise to post every day, or even every week, but I will try. I hope you all enjoy.
